Work permits are isued to recognised third level institutions for researchers and academics from non-EEA countries.
Unlike "normal" jobs - the institutions do not need to advertise the jobs with FAS. A letter of support must be submitted with the application from the President's Office of the third level institution in question.

The recognised third level institutions in Ireland are :
D.C.U. (Dublin City University)
U.C.D. (University College Dublin)
University of Dublin (Trinity College)
National University of Ireland Maynooth
U.C.C. (University College Cork)
U.C.G. (University College Galway)
University of Limerick
