Sky is the most popular digital Television provider in Ireland. Almost one in three houses in Ireland have Sky installed.

The cheapest package on Sky costsabout €22 a month - that is for 2 of their 6 "Mixes".
Sky have channel groups or mixes that they call Entertainment, Documentary, Lifestyle and Culture, Music, Kids.
For example the "Entertainment" mix includes channels like RTE1, RTE2, TV3, TG4, UKTV Gold, Sky One , Sky Two, BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Bravo, Paramount Comedy and several more.
People in some parts of Ireland can probably pick up BBC and UTV with an arial - but reception can be patchy and you will not get the many extras that come with Digital television.
Sky Ireland is offering new customers 3 months at half price when they sign up. You can sign up online on the Sky Ireland Website - it wil probably be quicker than doing it on the phone.
Sky Ireland offer free installation, satellite dish and digibox if you sign up for 12 months subscription.
Channel 4 is now also available on Sky in Ireland - as well as More4 - which shows and Film4.

Sky Ireland also have premium channels - for Sports and Movies - for an additional cost. If you have any sports fans in the family it can work out cheaper than going to the local pub to watch Premiership matches. (By the time you have bought a drink or two.)

Tip: After 12 months you are free to cancel your Sky subscription and you will still be able to get quite a few "free to air" channels using the sky dish with the sky digibox and the cancelled viewing card You will still need a TV arial to get the Irish channels.

Some of the UK channels that are "freeview" are not visible on the Sky Digital menus in Ireland - but you can add them manually as "Other Channels". Such channels include ITV2 ITV3 ITV4 BBC3 BBC4 Cbeebies CBBC . The tuning information for some of the channels is given below.
