County Meath is well served by a high quality road network which is
supported by an first class public transport system. This offers very
short commuting times, typically between 10 and 30 minutes, for people
living and working in the county.
Housing in County Meath is considerably less expensive than in major urban
centres - house prices and rental costs are as much as 30% lower in the
county. Due to Meath's low crime rate and excellent road safety record
housing and car insurance premiums are also lower. Meath is known as Ireland's
Royal County as it plays home to the ancient seat of Ireland's High Kings
at the Hill of Tara. From the vantage point of the Hill of Tara one can
appreciate the beautiful landscape of the county with its rolling fields,
the historic Boyne Valley, and the Irish sea coastline. For those living
in County Meath there is almost no location which is more than a ten minute
walk from countryside.
