Cars breakdown
now and then - that's a fact. OK maybe not as often as they did 10 or
20 years ago - but can you risk being in the middle of the Irish countryside
- not a garage for miles and your car has broken down.?
The AA are
probably the best known company providing breakdown insurance. There membership
starts at €105 - it covers a driver in any car (even as a passenger)
- not a specific car. This means that if a huband and wife both drive
the car - one will have to take out associate membership. (About €35)
Then again - ir you have 2 cars - both will then be covered.
The RAC cover the car - not the person. Cover starts at €90 - and
a second car is €35.
Hibernian Insurance offer a Motor Care policy which includes breakdown
cover.
Tip: Many car insurance firms now include breakdown cover in the
policy - so check the small print before you go taking out extra cover
- you may not need it.
